Modeling and control of an innovative thermal management system with heat storage for electric vehicles

The project deals with the development and investigation of new thermal management systems (VTM) for electric vehicles. The aim is to create a simulation model of a VTM system (assuming ideal thermal management), from which energy flow-optimized operating strategies are derived and evaluated for different operating cases. Flexibility measures, such as the use and technical integration of heat storage in the VTM architecture and the simultaneous use of innovative control strategies (model predictive control), are intended to achieve the best possible performance and efficiency (e.g. through preconditioning or peak load reduction) of the overall system.
