ClinDat

Result: Establishing mathematical models that calculate which treatment combinations are likely to cause complications in patients.

In the course of the ClinDat-studies at the GESPAG-hospitals, researchers at the faculties Steyr and Hagenberg of the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria collected data of a few thousand medical cases. Based on these data sets, mathematical models were generated.

These models are used to calculate the probability with which certain treatment combinations cause complications in patients. Both in terms of predicting minor and major complications, the research group was able to achieve a high to very high accuracy.
