The amputation of a leg always has a traumatic effect. Nerves that have continuously transmitted information about the condition of the leg to the brain are suddenly inactive or inadequately activated by pressure, which often leads to pain.
With the project Feedback for Leg Prostheses (short form: "FeeL"), this research group wants to transfer pressure information from the prosthetic foot via vibrators to the remaining stump in order to improve the perception of exo prostheses. Furthermore, the researchers want to achieve an improved, painless use of prostheses in everyday life.
